Here is a short video from Deedee and Sean's wedding. The details at the wedding amazed me! I think every couple should have a wedding monogram! It tied everything together, from favors, to the ceremony site, to bottles of water on the patio. Their wedding took place on the tale end of an August heat wave. While we did get minor relief from the heat, I have to give Deedee and Sean points for still wanting to brave the heat and really take advantage of the beautiful urban area.

This was a lovely wedding. A true celebration. Thanks for including me, Sean and Deedee.

I had the opportunity to have a classroom day with some of the 'Greats' in my field. Kelly Manno, Jasmine Star, and Kelly Park were all presenting! Hearing Jasmine talk will be something I remember for the rest of my life. I am coming out of the workshop day full of inspiration and ideas. I can't wait to rock my next wedding! I am dying to get my hands on a sleepy newborn! And the next senior I am working with... Oh the ideas are endless right now!

Here are some of my images from the shooting portion of the day. As you can see in the bottom picture, there are about 40 of us working with one set of models at a time. It can get a little cut throat down front, but it is always neat to look at what other photogs come up with, from the very same set up.

I am inspired. I have learned. I am ready to take what I have learned and rock some photos. And I am really lovin' life. ;)

So the title sounds iffy, but this shoot was a blast! I brought a helper, and he did a great job holding leashes and entertaining pups who were on break. He did totally and completely fall for one of the subjects, though, and Paula and Lisa were lucky to get out of there with everyone they brought! The gorgeous cat in the top photo won the cutest pet contest for the St. Louis Post Dispatch last summer. I'm glad all of the furries were able to come along and enjoy the spot light together. What a fun shoot! Paula and Lisa, I look forward to working with you again when the puppies are grown. ;) Thanks for coming all the way to Edwardsville! (And thanks rain, for giving us a break for the shoot!)

This crew was fun! Annie and Jarrod gave some of the best toasts I have heard in a long time!

Lately I have been feeling like each wedding tops the last. That is a great place for me to be, where each wedding seems even cooler, prettier, more put together then the last. This is definitely one of those weddings I will not be forgetting for a long time. Melissa and Matthew let Heather and I have some time with just them. Further more, they were willing to stop on the side of the road in a corn field for some of the most dramatic pictures of them. For my blog posts for weddings, I try to give an overview of the whole day. For this post, though, I had to really highlight the bride and groom and their private time together. They are gorgeous! For the field shots, we just set them up and had them chat for a few minutes. Heather and I tried to be invisible and just let them take a few moments to be together while we documented. Melissa and Matthew, thanks for being flexible on your wedding day! Thanks for letting us take you to the place we thought would be perfect for the two of you. It felt like an "after session" rather then a quick stop on the way to the reception. Congratulations and God Bless your life together!

Elissa and Jonathan might be my favorite couple so far. They were up for so much fun stuff! I know this post does not give a very good overview of the wedding day. We took all of the formal pictures prior to the wedding, and therefore had some extra time to spend with just the couple. The day was relaxed, creative, spontaneous. This is the first time that I have ever taken "trash the dress" pictures on a wedding day. (Read: my kind of fun!) I promise at least one more blog post with some other wedding day memories. Adam and I took a trip to the ghetto for his shoot. He is a musician and an artist, and we wanted to capture some of that creativity in his senior portraits. We were able to find so many unique settings for him to work with. This is a great area for both senior guys and girls. I can't wait to work with a senior who wants to edge up her session with a great dress from her high school years, like a prom dress or a homecoming dress. This is definitely the place to bring out your personality. Thanks again Adam, for getting up so early to catch that great morning light!
